学生の汎用的能力（主にリーダーシップとそれに関連する知識・スキル・態度）の養成を狙いとした研修プログラムを企画・運営するに際し、研修の効果性にプラスに働く構成要素とは如何なるものかを考察するという本研究全体の目的を念頭に、年度計画に沿って以下の研究活動を実施した。
プログラム受講者への量的・質的調査の実施：本研究が調査・分析対象として設定している2つのプログラム（UNGL学生リーダーズ・サマースクール：2021年9月、UNGLリーダーシップ・チャレンジinサイパン：2022年3月）の受講者・受講修了者（含卒業生）に対する量的・質的調査を実施した。
先行研究のレビュー：調査と並行して、引き続き国内外のリーダーシップ開発に関わる論文・著書・統計データ等の収集とレビューを行った。主に実践事例に着目し、本研究が対象とする研修プログラムとの異動について検討・整理を試みた。
調査結果の公開：研究の経過報告として、調査活動の中から得られたデータ等を取りまとめ、学会報告（「コロナ禍における国際交流型リーダーシップ・プログラムのオンライン実施とその成果」大学教育学会第43回大会；2021年6月5-6日）、及び論文投稿（「コロナ禍における国際交流型オンライン・プログラムの開発と実施、及びその成果：UNGL「リーダーシップ・チャレンジinサイパン」に関する事例報告」『大学教育実践ジャーナル』愛媛大学教育・学生支援機構，第21号，91-98頁）を行った。 -

In this study, the principal investigator and co-investigators examined extracurricular programs for leadership development implemented as inter-university collaborative activities. Researchers considered the impact of reflection on the development and cultivation of leadership among college students. Through surveys from participating students and observations from the instructors who provided support for these programs, the study was able to investigate what students learned from these reflection-related leadership programs. This study reviewed students’ sense of personal development of leadership-related skills and mindset, as well as the major effects of student interactions with instructors and other staff.
