    There is an increasing need for crop management practices to improve the day-night segmentation efficiency of crops grown in the open-field or in the greenhouse, in soil or in hydroponic environments, or both. We propose an asymmetric TheLR531v1 network with a multi-branch structure with powerful feature representation to recover plants, plant leaf or canopy (horticultural crops) from the background in real-time. The multi-branch structure of the network successfully extracts various image features from the input images and classifies them into leaf and background classes. We evaluated the network performance by using over 55,992 augmented images (tomato, eggplant, and lettuce) and obtained 94.55% training and 95.89% validation accuracy. The total parameters of TheLR531v1 are only 4.5 M, which is significantly lower than other state-of-the-art models. But realise that in addition, the proposed network achieves an average BF score of 89.00%, an IoU of 87.00%, and a GA of 96.00% to distinguish plants or plant canopy pixels from background pixels. Overall, TheLR531v1 can replace the laborious manual image segmentation tasks, analyze variability in stress conditions (temperature), and visualize stress related changes in plants, leaves or canopy (pixel area), which can improve crop management practices and yield.

    We present a new approach of classification decision of tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) leaf disease based on the summarization of the output from a series of parallel convolutional neural networks with different configurations. The use of Swish, LeakyReLU-Swish, ReLU-Swish, Elu-Swish, and ClippedReLU-Swish activation layers, as well as the Batch Normalization-Instance Normalization layer significantly improves the network performance, achieving classification accuracy over 99.0% with training, 97.5% with validation and 98.0% with testing dataset. Despite various performance metrics observed, none of the proposed networks overfitted on the validation dataset. Furthermore, we use various techniques to visualize the network performance. This demonstrates how the networks (Network 1, Network 2, Network 3, Network 4, Network 5) learn from the training dataset and can show diseased areas of leaves with high confident scores under real conditions. Network 1 shows the best performance in terms of network stability and visualization of the disease location. By computing, summarizing, and scoring the output of a series of parallel convolutional neural networks, the weakness of Network 4 and Network 5 in predicting the Healthy class can be overcome. This research will inspire and encourage further use of deep learning techniques to automatically detect and classify plant diseases under real conditions and improve financial condition of the farmers worldwide.

    Automated crop monitoring using image analysis is commonly used in horticulture. Image-processing technologies have been used in several studies to monitor growth, determine harvest time, and estimate yield. However, accurate monitoring of flowers and fruits in addition to tracking their movements is difficult because of their location on an individual plant among a cluster of plants. In this study, an automated clip-type Internet of Things (IoT) camera-based growth monitoring and harvest date prediction system was proposed and designed for tomato cultivation. Multiple clip-type IoT cameras were installed on trusses inside a greenhouse, and the growth of tomato flowers and fruits was monitored using deep learning-based blooming flower and immature fruit detection. In addition, the harvest date was calculated using these data and temperatures inside the greenhouse. Our system was tested over three months. Harvest dates measured using our system were comparable with the data manually recorded. These results suggest that the system could accurately detect anthesis, number of immature fruits, and predict the harvest date within an error range of ±2.03 days in tomato plants. This system can be used to support crop growth management in greenhouses.

    The real challenge for separating leaf pixels from background pixels in thermal images is associated with various factors such as the amount of emitted and reflected thermal radiation from the targeted plant, absorption of reflected radiation by the humidity of the greenhouse, and the outside environment. We proposed TheLNet270v1 (thermal leaf network with 270 layers version 1) to recover the leaf canopy from its background in real time with higher accuracy than previous systems. The proposed network had an accuracy of 91% (mean boundary F1 score or BF score) to distinguish canopy pixels from background pixels and then segment the image into two classes: leaf and background. We evaluated the classification (segment) performance by using more than 13,766 images and obtained 95.75% training and 95.23% validation accuracies without overfitting issues. This research aimed to develop a deep learning technique for the automatic segmentation of thermal images to continuously monitor the canopy surface temperature inside a greenhouse.

    This study examines the thermophysical process of a solar driven adsorption cooling system. The data used for the performance study were taken experimentally during the start-up procedure of a solar collector. The generation of high temperatures inside a solar collector adsorption tube is a challenge due to the intermittent nature of solar radiation. In this present study, a solar collector adsorption tube using granular activated carbon (GAC1, GAC2) and methanol is introduced. The proposed system maintains higher adsorption temperatures up to 117.2 degrees C. The evaporator temperature of the solar adsorption cooling system decreased to -12 degrees C (sunny day) and 0 degrees C (sunny-cloudy days), allowing liquid water converted to solid ice. This result showed that a solar collector filled with granular activated carbon and methanol successfully produces ice inside the solar adsorption cooling system throughout the experiment period. A solar-powered pump circulated the melted ice inside the storage chamber during day time and thus decreased the inside temperature of storage chamber to 15 degrees C and 10 degrees C for shorter and longer durations, respectively.     This paper assessed the physiological loss in weight, total color development and total soluble solids of stored fresh tomato inside solar adsorption cooling storage system. Fresh and treated tomato stored inside solar adsorption cooling storage system at the temperature range of 10°C to 12°C with an average relative humidity level of 80%. The results showed that tomato stored at ambient condition lost weight 5% after seven days of storage then 0.008 MPa treated tomato for 15 minutes, which lost 4.6% after 25 days of storage inside a solar adsorption cooling system. Soluble solids decreased slightly from 7.1% to 6.6% after 25 days storage. The skin brightness L* values of stored tomato at ambient condition increased from 46.1 to 47.9 after seven days of storage at ambient condition and tomato treated with 0.008 MPa treatment for 15 min stored inside solar adsorption cooling storage system decreased from 44.7 to 35.5 after 25 days of storage. The skin redness a* values of stored tomato at ambient condition increased from 18.8 to 20.5 after seven days of storage but tomato treated with 0.008 MPa treatment for 15 min stored inside solar adsorption cooling storage system showed a* values increased from 20.4 to 21.4 after 25 days of storage. The skin yellowness b* value of stored tomato at ambient condition decreased from 10.2 to 7.6 after seven days of storage and tomato treated with 0.008 MPa treatment for 15 min stored inside solar adsorption cooling system decreased from 8.9 to 8.6 after 25 days of storage. These results suggest that the low-cost and energy-saving solar adsorption cooling storage system with low pressure treatment method is useful to keep the fresh tomato fruit quality.

    This paper carried out a review study into the brick wall cooler storage system (zero energy storage) in terms of its originality, current status, research and implementation achievement, benefit and possible barriers. The continuous progress in technology innovation, heat and mass exchanger of the brick wall cooler storage system now varied from sand-zeolite mixture, volcanic plate made wall, natural ventilation for releasing excess inside relative humidity, optimization of watering operation to save water and successful integration of the solar-driven adsorption cooling system with brick wall cooler storage system enhanced the cooling performance over those the decade ago by increasing the shelf-life of the stored fruit and vegetables. This review work indicated that the brick wall cooler storage system has potential to be an alternative to conventional electric powered expensive cooling storage for fruit and vegetables in the rural areas of the developing world. Future success on the dissemination of brick wall cooler storage system towards farmer's community may imply on more study on newer type of low cost heat exchanger material; further study on its economic, environment and social impacts; low cost postharvest treatment and packaging for brick wall cooler storage system; extensive farmers awareness and other dissemination measures; and public awareness and other dissemination measures.     A passive evaporative zero energy storage structure (ZESS) has been developed as a low cost and eco-friendly cooler for storing perishable fruit and vegetables with moderate respiration rates. Evaporation is influenced by weather conditions (air temperature, relative humidity, and the direction and speed of the outside air) and the porous nature of the heat exchanging and evaporative media (pore space of gravel stone with thermal-hydraulic conductivity and vapor diffusion properties of the porous medium). The ZESS consists of two heat exchanging media (outside wall made of porous volcanic lava stone and inside wall made of solid clay brick), one evaporative medium (sand-zeolite-gravel stone), and one natural humidifier (detachable clay water tank) inside the storage area. The results obtained from the performance tests revealed that the temperature inside the ZESS was 15 degrees C lower than the outside air temperature, while the inside relative humidity was 20% higher than the outside relative humidity. As a result, the shelf life of stored tomato and eggplant inside the ZESS increased from 7 to 19 days and 4 to 9 days, respectively, with maximum watering of 29 L day(-1). Thus, a ZESS provides an excellent means of short-term preservation of fruit and vegetables soon after harvest. (C) 2015 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

    The major aim of this study is to model the effect of outside temperature, watering, and airing on the inside temperature of a hybrid evaporative cooling system (HECS). There is great interest in evaporative cooling systems as a new storage system for fruit and vegetables for the purpose of energy saving. The heat transfer process of the HECS has not yet been well analyzed, so system identification based model was used to identify such an unknown process. Four system identification methods were used to train a three input-one output based system. After comparing the performance of the four system identification methods, continuous-time identified transfer function model was selected based on final prediction error (FPE), mean squared error (MSE), and regression of the input-output responses.

    This study examines modeling and simulation of the transient thermal behavior of a solar collector adsorber tube. The data used for model setup and validation were taken experimentally during the start-up procedure of a solar collector adsorber tube. ANN models are developed based on the nonlinear autoregressive with exogenous input NARX model and are implemented using the MATLAB® tools including the Neural Network ToolboxTM. It is considered that the data used for model training and validation are experimental data taken during solar collector operation using standard instrumentation. The neural network predictions agreed well with experimental values with mean squared error which are near 0 and the best fit between outputs and targets (R) are very close to 1. These results showed that NARX models (1–12–1 with d1 = 10, d2 = 9 and 35 epochs) can successfully be used to predict thermal performance of the adsorber tube.

    A new zero energy cool chamber (ZECC) consisting of two cooling systems, a solar-driven adsorption refrigerator and an evaporative cooling system, was developed and then evaluated as low-cost and eco-friendly cooling storage for storing fruit with moderate respiration rates. The solar-driven adsorption refrigerator, consisting of a solar collector containing activated carbon as an adsorbent, a condenser and an evaporator, cools water based by evaporating methanol and adsorbing it on activated carbon, and then makes ice. The methanol adsorbed on the activated carbon is desorbed by applying solar heat. The ice is then used to cool the storage space, which can be done for a long time without the need for electricity. The evaporative cooling system also cools the storage space by evaporating water from the wet walls containing wet filler. The combined use of two cooling systems reduced the average inside temperature of the new ZECC to 12.07 degrees C compared with an average outside temperature of 31.5 degrees C and extended the shelf life of tomatoes from 7 to 23 days. These results suggest that the new ZECC proposed here is low-cost and energy-saving and is useful for storing fruit and vegetables in areas where electricity is unavailable. (c) 2014 Elsevier Ltd.     This study was conducted to investigate the effect of passive evaporative cooler on storage behavior-that is visual appearance, physiological loss in weight (PLW), color development, firmness, total soluble solids (TSS) and pH level of hot water treated eggplant fruit (Solanum melongena L.). Fresh harvested fruits were treated with hot water at 45°C for 1 h. The highest percentage of PLW (2.39%) was the fruit stored at ambient temperature of 25°C for nine days whereas the lowest percentage of weight loss (2.27%) was the fruit stored inside the passive evaporative cooler. In all cases, the decreasing rate of lightness (L* value) and increasing rate of greenness (a* value) and yellowness (b* value) of the hot water treated fruits were almost negligible. Firmness value of the fruits stored inside the passive evaporative cooler was found almost constant, while it reduced in fruits which stored at ambient temperature. Furthermore, higher TSS and lower pH value were observed in those fruits which were stored inside the passive evaporative cooler.     A 'Zero Energy Cool Chamber (ZECC)' has been developed for storing fruits and vegetables from the viewpoints of low cost and energy savings. Adding water to a filler between the outer and inner brick walls and shade curtains is effective way to reduce the inside temperature of a ZECC. The objective of this study was to minimize the inside temperature by controlling the watering using an intelligent optimization technique (IOT) combined with neural networks (NN) and genetic algorithms (GA). The objective function was given by the average value of the inside temperature for one day. For dynamic optimization, the control process (24 h) was divided into 8 steps, and the optimal value (8-step ON-OFF intervals) of watering was obtained using NN and GA. In this method, dynamic changes in the inside temperature of the ZECC, as affected by the watering strategy, outside temperature and inside relative humidity conditions, were first identified using NN, and then the optimal value, which minimized the objective function, was determined through simulation of the identified NN model using GA. The average inside temperature for this optimal control was 4 degrees C lower than that for the continuous watering for 24 h, and was also 7.5 degrees C lower than that for no watering. The ZECC with the optimal watering strategy extended the shelf-life of tomato from 7 to 16 days. Thus, it was concluded that a ZECC optimized by using NN and GA is useful for storing tomato with no electric energy. (C) 2013 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

    A low cost &#039;Zero Energy Cool Chamber (ZECC)&#039; has been developed for storing fruits and vegetables by using passive evaporative mechanism. This paper presents the results of a survey on the farmer&#039;s opinion regarding the exploitation of zero energy storage system. This survey was conducted at Mymensingh district of Bangladesh from 2011 to 2012 and it also revealed that most of the farmers sell their produce to the middlemen just after the harvest. Lack of transportation facility, shortage of energy supply and lack of investment on storage, lower price of vegetables during the harvesting season, farmers in the rural areas often sell their products to the middleman or in the local market at low prices. They are not even able to get the return of invested money of cultivating vegetables or fruits. As a result, higher percentage of poverty level remains in farmer&#039;s community. They demanded low cost storage system such as zero energy storage system which doesn&#039;t require electricity for operating to store their agricultural produces.

    Tomato fruits were harvested at the accurate stage of maturity age and stored inside the zero energy cool chamber (ZECC) which has a shelf-life of only about 7 days at ambient temperature (25℃). Storing tomato inside the ZECC could be a practical technique at farmer&#039;s field to extend storage life by reducing the quality degradation. Physiological loss in weight (PLW) was faster for fruits held at ambient temperature. Weight loss during the storage at ambient temperature was 5.4%, but untreated fruits at ZECC over the same period showed a 2.6% loss. Although soluble solids increased over the storage period, there were no significant differences between ZECC and ambient temperature. However effect of hot water treatment (60℃ for 3 minutes) on quality of tomatoes was clearly visible by increasing storage life up to 29 days. It reduced weight loss and decay, inhibited color development and maintained firmness of tomatoes but had no effect on total content of soluble solids and pH level. Hot water treatment slightly reduced the mold growth of tomatoes stored inside ZECC.

    Agricultural control systems are characterized by complexity and uncertainly. A skilled grower can deal well with crops based on his own intuition and experience. In this study, an intelligent optimization technique mimicking the simple thinking process of a skilled grower is proposed and then applied to dynamic optimization of temperature that mini- mizes the water loss in fruit during storage. It is supposed that the simple thinking process of a skilled grower consists of two steps: 1) “learning and modeling” through experience and 2) “selection and decision of an optimal value” th- rough simulation of a mental model built in his brain by the learning. An intelligent control technique proposed here consists of a decision system and a feedback control system. In the decision system, the dynamic change in the rate of water loss as affected by temperature was first identified and modeled using neural networks (“learning and modeling”), and then the optimal value (l-step set points) of temperature that minimized the rate of water loss was searched for through simulation of the identified neural-network model using genetic algorithms (“selection and decision”). The control process for 8 days was divided into 8 steps. Two types of optimal values, a single heat stress application, such as 40°C, 15°C, 15°C, 15°C, 15°C, 15°C, 15°C and 15°C, and a double heat stress application, such as 40°C, 15°C, 40°C, 15°C, 15°C, 15°C, 15°C and 15°C, were obtained under the range of 15°C ≤ T ≤ 40°C. These results suggest that appli- cation of heat stress to fruit is effective in maintaining freshness of fruit during storage.

    A zero energy cool chamber (ZECC) consisting of a brick wall cooler and a storage container made of new materials has been developed. The ZECC requires no electric energy. The brick wall cooler made of bricks with a mixture of moistened sand and zeolite allows low inside temperature and high relative humidity to be maintained based on the principles of a natural evaporative cooling mechanism. Several types of storage containers coated with different antibacterial materials were applied to reduce decay. For example, silver-ion-coated storage containers were used to reduce decay. Heat treatment was also applied to the commodities in order to maintain freshness. Generally, tomato and eggplant had a shelf life of 7 and 4 days at room temperature, respectively, as compared to 16 and 9 days when stored in the ZECC. Tomato and eggplant treated with hot water reduced the percentage of rotting. Tomato treated with hot water at 60 degrees C for three minutes and eggplant treated with hot water at 45 degrees C for an hour when stored inside silver-ion-coated containers in the ZECC showed extended shelf life of up to 28 and 15 days, respectively.

    The preservation of fruit and vegetables by freezing is one of the most effective ways for retaining high quality and freshness in agricultural products during long-term storage. However, conventional freezing methods typically destroy plant cells and tissues due to the formation of ice crystals. Quick freezing techniques that made use of aluminum materials, heat treatment and trehalose addition were now used for reducing the freezing injury of plant cells. Contacting a sliced tomato with two thick aluminum plates on both sides provided a significant quick freezing. The use of an aluminum vessel and particles also provided a quicker freezing method for whole tomatoes. Heat treatment at 45 for 24h reduced the freezing injury of whole tomatoes. The absorption of trehalose from a 10 trehalose solution also reduced the freezing injury. These results suggest that the combinatorial uses of a quick freezing technique with aluminum plates and particles, heat treatment and trehalose addition is an effective way to reduce the freezing injury of fruit and vegetables during the freezing process.

    A new storage system called "zero energy cool chamber (ZECC)" has been developed to increase the shelf life of fruits and vegetables from the viewpoints of low-cost and energy saving. The inside temperature is cooled only by evaporation of water, without using electricity. The solar radiation increases the outside air temperature of the ZECC and this increased temperature help evaporating moisture from the wet sand layer of the ZECC. When water removed from the sand layer, inside temperature of the ZECC decreased. The dynamic behavior of the inside temperature is usually characterized by complexity and uncertainty. A three-layer neural network with time-delay operators was used to identify the dynamic change in the inside temperature of the ZECC, as affected by the air temperature and watering. It allows predicting the dynamic response of the inside temperature in the future with a high accuracy. © 2011 IEEE.

    This paper has discussed the oil potential of Karanj (Pongamia pinnata) as source of bio-diesel, for cultivation in Bangladesh and other potential uses. This paper has also outlined the oil extraction method from the seed which is s chemical solvent method known as cold percolation method by using the CCl4 and this method can extract more than 95% oil. Physical properties of the Karanj seed are also discussed and the bulk density of the seed is 0.56g/cc. Karanj seed contains oil about 32%. The specific gravity of Karanj oil varies from 0.925 to 0.940 at 200 C which is slightly higher than the sp. gravity of fossil diesel. Therefore, it should be adjusted for its large scale application in engine running. The high viscosity of Karanj oil interferes with injection process and leads to poor fuel atomization. The injection system may be slightly modified for the application of Karanj oil as fuel for diesel engine or the high viscosity has to be overcome by using methyl ester with Karanj oil. The transformation of Karanj oil to its methyl ester reduces molecular weight to one third, reduces viscosity to one eighth and increases the diesel index (Anonymous, 2008a). The flashpoint of the oil is 134 °C which explain that the Karanj oil could stand for a long time. So, Karanj cultivation in Bangladesh could be a practical solution for the rural people in order to minimize the energy shortage.

    The cracking stress and bending moment of ferrocement elements in flexure are the significant parameters in the design of structures made of ferrocement elements. This paper presents an experimental investigation on ferrocement elements uniformly reinforced by four different meshes, such as, geogrid mesh, chicken mesh, square mesh and hybrid mesh. The cracking stress and bending moment have been studied by testing the specimens under flexural loadings. By analyzing experimental data, the equations for the first-crack-stress and the ultimate-moment have been proposed in this paper. Results obtained by the proposed equations have been compared to those reported in the literature. It was revealed that the proposed equations, irrespective of their simplicity; give good agreement to those previously published. <br />

    This study identifies the physical and mechanical properties and oil contents of seeds of four indigenous plants in Bangladesh, namely the Jatropha, Karanj, Castor, and Rubber. Physical properties such as length, width, thickness, slender ratio, weight and bulk density were measured to find out the size, shape and space required by the seeds. Mechanical properties like hardness and crushing strength of the seeds were determined as well. All these properties are necessary for processing and storage of the seeds for oil extraction. Hardness and crushing strength of the seeds were measured by a Manual Hardness Tester. Oil content was measured by chemical method (Cold percolation method). Among the four types of seeds, Rubber seed was the largest with a length of 21.2 mm followed by Karanj 17.9 mm, Jatropha 17.1 mm and Castor 11.8 mm. The slender ratio of Jatropha, Karanj, Castor and Rubber seeds were found to be 1.8, 1.2, 1.9 and 1.1 respectively. Jatropha and Castor seeds had similar cylindrical shape with rounded tips. Karanj seed was found to be circular and flat. Shape of the Rubber seed was rectangular, inflated but slightly flattened in thickness. Rubber seed was the heaviest (4.3g), as its size was also biggest followed by Karanj (1.2g), Jatropha (0.8g) and Castor (0.2g), respectively. Hardness were found to be 2.7, 1.9, 1.7 and 8.6 kg for Jatropha, Castor, Karanj and Rubber seeds while crushing strength were 38.1, 26.6, 24.1 and 121.2 kg/cm2, respectively. The oil contents of Jatropha, Karanj, Castor and Rubber seeds were 32.4%, 31.8%, 67.7%, 38.9% by weight respectively. All the four types of seeds contain satisfactory amount of oil which can be extracted commercially and checked for their suitability for the production of biodiesel.

    Good quality lands are degraded by water and wind erosion, loss of organic matter,<br />
    water-logging and salinity in Bangladesh which decreases crop yield and biodiversity. Lands<br />
    are also contaminated with heavy metals due to growing industrialization. There are lots of<br />
    expensive methods for controlling soil erosion, soil salinity, and land degradation, which can<br />
    not be achievable in developing countries. The environment-friendly vetiver grass is available<br />
    all over Bangladesh and it is economically feasible to control land degradation. Vetiver<br />
    grass can also be used for other purposes, as mentioned in this paper, and poor people can<br />
    earn money utilizing vetiver grass. But most of the people are unaware of the utility of this<br />
    natural resource and therefore, motivation and training on the utilization of vetiver products<br />
    are necessary.

    Various synthetic chemicals, which are inherent to the current technology development mode are primarily responsible for several environmental and health problems in the world. A number of synthetic pesticides and their metabolites are found in soil, ground and surface waters and atmosphere. Even though pesticides are used in different sectors, agriculture is the major source for this contamination. Continuous use of synthetic pesticides develops resistant against some pests and is not a sustainable option. Due to these reasons, interest on natural pesticides is increasing. In this paper, natural pesticides developed from natural plant fruit and plant extracts such as Lal chitta has been experimentally investigated. Lal chitta, a tropical plant widely available in Bangladesh is experimentally investigated as natural pesticide. Experimental and review results showed that these products exhibit excellent pest controlling properties.

    This study was carried out to examine the wastewater discharge and its treatment for and potential reuse in Mymensingh Periurban area of Bangladesh. The Mymensingh Periurban area consists of three places, namely: Maskanda, Army cantonment and Vatera. Wastewater flows through the three channels were recorded for 11 months. The dimension of the wastewater carrying channels was measured at different distances and the mean discharge through the channels was estimated. Wastewater characteristics such as pH, Electric Conductivity (EC), Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), NH4 and PO4 were also measured by appropriate methods and instruments. Moreover, the plants growing in the channel sides using wastewater were also analyzed for NH4, PO4. Participatory rural appraisal was also conducted in the Periurban areas to know public opinion on advantages and disadvantages of using wastewater. It was found that farmers were interested to use wastewater for irrigation provided they are pre-treated by biological or other means. Water hyacinth and similar weeds were used for preliminary absorption for purification of wastewater for reuse.

    Due to the environmental problems caused by fossil fuels consumption and their exhaustible nature, efforts are being made to find alternatives to replace these fossil fuel resources. Among the alternatives, biodiesel is considered as a strong alternative to petrodiesel. Conventionally, biodiesel is produced from different types of vegetable oils and animal fats. However, most of the vegetable oils, which are used for biodiesel production, are edible oils and therefore, in competition with other food sources. Recently, it has been reported that Jatropha, a tropical plant yields a considerable amount of non edible oil which can be converted to biodiesel. The scale of Jatropha plantation in India and China to supplement their high rate of economic growth has given a promise that this would be a major alternative energy source in the years to come. Jatropha has many other uses in addition to the feedstock for biodiesel production. The Jatropha oil can be used as a direct replacement for kerosene for cooking and lighting, as an engine lubricant and as drying oil. The particulates from the gases obtained by burning Jatropha oil can be captured and used as material to make non toxic paint. Different parts of Jatropha have medicinal values. Each and every part of the tree from roots to the leaves can be used for various purposes e.g. to make antibiotics, medicine for skin diseases treatment and others. This paper presents a comprehensive analysis on the multiple and zero waste use of Jatropha carcus.<br />
    Dandelion is also a very useful plant. It is considered as a weed. However, it has several beneficial uses. This paper also presents a comprehensive use of dandelion including medicinal value as well as extraction of natural colors.
