In this study, to describes about significance and process of creating “hazard map with agricultural information”. Recently, hazard maps are attracting attention due to it is increase natural disasters, however, it does not take into account information related to agriculture. Therefore, we tried to creating hazard map based on a new concept in case of Yura area, Gogoshima Island in Matsuyama City, Ehime Prefecture. We emphasized the famerʼs knowledge and experience in the presses. In this study, three surveys were conducted in relation to the development of the agricultural version of the hazard map at Yura area, Gogoshima Island. The purpose of the first survey was to gather information on map making. A pre-map was developed based on the results of the first survey. The second survey used the pre-map to confirm the first survey and to add new information. In the second survey, new information was added, such as the condition of the landslide farmland and place names. The first and second surveys were conducted in a workshop format. The third survey involved reviewing the “The hazard map with agricultural information version Mar. 2020”. We then discussed how to use the maps and where to store them, but this discussion was initiated voluntarily by the farmers. The creation of the map not only fosters residentsʼ awareness of future disaster prevention and mitigation, but also serves as a model for rural communities that are resilient to disasters and can be restored and reconstructed at an early stage, and the hazard maps we created will be used in the future for inheritance of knowledge and at new disasters.

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE: Coffee is a major caffeine-containing food source that can be used for treatment of apnea in prematurity. However, few studies have examined the association between coffee consumption and sleep-disordered breathing (SDB). We investigated whether coffee consumption is associated with the oxygen desaturation index (ODI) as a marker of SDB among middle-aged Japanese male workers. METHODS: The subjects were 1126 male local government workers aged 22-59 who participated in SDB screening in 2011-2012. Daily coffee consumption was assessed by a self-administered questionnaire. We measured 3% oxygen desaturation (3%ODI) during a night's sleep using a pulse oximeter. A general linear model was used to calculate the multivariate-adjusted means of 3%ODI per quartile of coffee consumption. We further analyzed the data after stratifying by overweight and current smoking status. RESULTS: A inverse association between coffee consumption and 3%ODI was found. The multivariate-adjusted mean of 3%ODI for the lowest and highest coffee consumption groups were 11.9 times/h and 10.6 times/h (p for trend = 0.06), respectively; 14.6 and 11.5 times/h (p for trend = 0.01) in overweight participants; and 12.7 and 11.0 times/h (p for trend = 0.06) in non-smokers. No associations were found in non-overweight and smoking workers. CONCLUSIONS: Our results suggest that higher coffee consumption was associated with lower 3% ODI as a marker of SDB in overweight and non-smoking workers.

<p>The purpose of this study was to clarify the current and future status of farmland consolidation for rice paddy field farms, using the case of "canyon-type hilly and mountainous areas." In the study area, small-sized paddy fields expand across long and narrow areas along mountain streams and straddle many water systems, given the expanded scale of farming. Because of the farmers' increasing burdens for water management and weeding on the ridges between paddy fields, there is a limit to the scale expansion by debt. On the other hand, if the farmers specialize in the consignment of machine operation, an operation on a scale of 20–30 ha is possible, and high income can be expected. It is desired to organize residents who can weed on the ridge and manage water by utilizing subsidies so that core farmers can specialize in machine operation.</p>

From the geographical point of view, various conflicts between the environment and human activities are important and permanent concern. For example, many serious phenomena such as global warming, desertification, population pressure and so on are of occurrence in the world. In China, desertification is in progress rapidly. In 2002, China Government has made a policy to keep back desertification. The policy aims to prohibit inhabitant nomadic action and to reproduce grassland. The purpose of this study is to describe and evaluate the present condition. This study focuses on the Alxa League in Inner Mongolian region where the desertification is most striking. In the present, the original nomadic life is breaking down due to lack of grassland for self-sufficiency, the absence of successors, the involving in market economy and so on. Although compensation payments are offered to nomads by the government, nomads are yet far from acquiring new stable lifestyle. We show the diagram (Fig.8) as the result of our examination. On the whole, it is doubtful whether the policy to control the desertification is properly working.

In recent years, the branding of agricultural products has been an important processs in food production in Japan. The purpose of this paper is to examine the development of the hog industry and "branded pork" projects in Asahi village, Ibaraki Prefecture.<br>Asahi is the biggest production center of hogs in Ibaraki Prefecture. Since the 1970s, Asahi has been home to full-time hog farmers who receive government assistance. Since the hog farmers could not work together to organize an systematic production and shipping system, each farmer expanded the scale of hog management independently. However, currently many farmers are worried about the rising cost of hog management, the occurrence of environmental problems, and a fall in hog prices. Therefore they recognize the importance of branded pork projects and some producers have already started branding.<br>Branded pork projects allow for stable hog prices and reinforce the connection between the production sector and the retail sector. Since these branded pork projects achieve the stable production and supply of traceable, high-quality pork, retailers think highly of them. However, there are some problems, such as the limited extent of branded pork distribution and differences in branded pork handling by each retailer.

_I_．はじめに&lt;BR&gt; 増大する安価な輸入畜産物の影響によって，日本の畜産物産地は収益の減少や生産量の縮小を余儀なくされている。さらに近年，飼料用として海外から輸入されるトウモロコシや大豆の価格が高騰したことで，産地はさらに大きな打撃を受けた。一方，日本の食料自給率は40％前後にまで低下している。畜産物の自給率は50％強を維持しているものの，飼料の多くを海外原料に依存しているため，カロリーベースでの自給率は極めて低い。このようななかで，休耕地や耕作放棄地を利用した飼料用の米(以下，飼料米)の生産が広まりつつあり，2008年の飼料米作付面積は全国で1,611haに達した。&lt;BR&gt; 本発表では，飼料米生産がどのように拡大しているのか，また飼料米を用いた畜産物生産(本発表は養豚を対象とする)がどのように行われているのかについて，後述する事例の現地調査をもとに検討する。そのうえで，飼料米の利用を通じた耕畜連携が，地域農業や日本の食料供給体制の進化に寄与する可能性について考察する。&lt;BR&gt;_II_．飼料米の供給&lt;BR&gt; 飼料米として栽培されるのは，通常の食用に適さない多収量品種である。飼料米は一般的な稲作と同様の方法で栽培することができ，農機械などを新たに購入する必要もない。大豆や麦などへの転作に不向きな農地であっても栽培できることも利点である。飼料米の生産によって，2009年度では，水田等有効活用促進交付金による55,000円/10aと，需要即応型水田農業確立推進事業による25,000円/10aで，生産者は計80,000円/10aの補助を受けることができる。飼料米生産による10aあたりの収入は104,500円であり，主食米の同99,000円を上回る。&lt;BR&gt;_III_．飼料米を利用した耕畜連携 －「日本のこめ豚」の事例－&lt;BR&gt; 飼料米を利用した畜産物供給の事例として，本発表では首都圏を中心に展開するＰ生協が販売している「日本のこめ豚」を取り上げる。この商品は2008年2月より販売が開始された。日本のこめ豚は，岩手県軽米町や秋田県鹿角市などでつくられた飼料米を秋田県小坂町の養豚グループが利用して生産されている。日本のこめ豚となる肉豚は，出荷の60日前から，飼料米を10％含む飼料を与えられる。2008年には，11haの農地で収穫された60tの飼料米を用いて2,800頭の肉豚が生産された。日本のこめ豚はP生協の扱う国産豚肉よりも100gあたり10円ほど割高であるが，組合員からは高い評価を受けており，2009年には当初の計画を上回る5,000頭の販売が見込まれている。そのためＰ生協は，2010年には20,000頭の販売を実現するべく，少なくとも55haの農地で生産された飼料米を2009年に確保する予定である。&lt;BR&gt;_IV_．飼料米利用の課題と展望&lt;BR&gt; 飼料米生産は急速に拡大しつつあるが，同時に多くの課題も抱えている。たとえば,飼料米の販売単価は主食米の価格よりもはるかに低いため，経費や労力を削減しつつ収量増加を実現する必要がある。また飼料米の価格も，安すぎては飼料米生産者の収入が減少し，高すぎては畜産物生産者のコストが増加する。そして，飼料米生産による収入の大部分を補助金が占めるという事実は否めない。&lt;BR&gt; こうした課題の克服が飼料米生産の定着には急務であるものの，飼料米生産やそれによる耕畜連携には次のような意義を見出すことができる。まず飼料米生産者にとっては，農地の荒廃を防ぐという効果だけでなく，飼料米生産がたとえ大きな収入に結びつかなくとも，営農意欲が高まることがある。また，家畜糞尿を肥料として飼料米の農地に還元することによって，飼料米の収量増加も見込まれる。食料自給率の向上という観点からも，輸入飼料への依存体質を改善しうる試金石となろう。&lt;BR&gt; これらに加えて強調すべき点として，消費者に対する明快なイメージ提示が可能となることが挙げられる。食肉は，生体時とは全く異なる状態で消費者に供給され，その過程では処理解体など容易に公開できない作業も含まれる。一方，消費者には現在もなお，農村＝水田が広がるというイメージが強く根付いている。したがって，飼料米の利用による耕畜連携を通じて，「飼料米を利用してつくった肉は美味しいだけでなく，それを食べることで，耕作放棄地が水田によみがえる」という，わかりやすく明快なメッセージやイメージを消費者に伝えることができる。すなわち，飼料米の利用による耕畜連携は，「見える」農業から「見せる」農業への進化の方法として位置づけられるものと考えられる。

_I_ はじめに&lt;BR&gt; 茨城県筑西市は，施設園芸による小玉スイカ生産の全国最大産地となっている。一般に施設園芸は，産地間競争の激化や農産物価格の低迷，また農業労働力の高齢化や農地の疲弊など，様々な問題にも直面し，産地の興亡が激しい。本報告は，筑西市における小玉スイカ産地の分析から，施設園芸による農業経営の維持システムについて考察することを目的とする。なお，調査対象集落は，耕地に占める施設園芸面積の割合が多く，主業農家のすべてが施設園芸に従事する下星谷集落とした。&lt;BR&gt;_II_ 筑西市における施設園芸の展開&lt;BR&gt;1．産地の発展過程&lt;BR&gt; 対象集落においては，水田面積が少なく，畑地での麦類や陸稲を中心に小規模な商品作物栽培による不安定な農業経営が続いてきた。商品作物のなかには大玉スイカも含まれていたため，1957年より，小玉スイカの栽培が試験的に開始された。対象集落においても，1961年より小玉スイカ栽培が新たな商品作物として開始された。1960年代後半からは，パイプハウス型栽培方法が出現し，この方法が全農家に広まった。これとともに，小玉スイカ収穫後の7月に，後作として抑制トマトの栽培が導入され，小玉スイカ・トマトという作型が徐々に定着していった。また，1960年代半ば以降，陸田造成事業によって水稲作が拡大したが，米の生産調整が開始された1970年代以降は，陸田での施設園芸が拡大し，これが小玉スイカ生産発展の一因となった。とくに，1975年以降，糖度が高く食味の良い品種である「紅こだま」が導入されてからは,小玉スイカの市場価値が大きく向上し，栽培面積がさらに拡大した。そして1988年には，茨城県青果物銘柄産地の指定を受けるにいたった。しかし，小玉スイカによる収入は，バブル期の10aあたり100万円超をピークとして，現在は50~60万円程度にまで低下している。しかし，コスト削減など対応策が取り組まれることにより産地の維持が図られている。 &lt;BR&gt;2．対象集落における農業経営&lt;BR&gt; 集落内の土地利用は，集落の中央部に宅地が集まり，その周囲に施設園芸のビニルハウスと陸田が広がっている。また，集落東部の観音川沿いと南西部の低地に水田が存在する。ビニルハウスでの作物は，小玉スイカと後作の抑制トマトが主体で，ほかにキュウリやレタスなどもみられる。陸田や水田では水稲のほか，転作作物の大豆や小麦，大麦が栽培されている。&lt;BR&gt; 対象集落における主業農家は，１戸あたり１ha前後の施設園芸を家族労働力によって経営している。多くの農家は，小玉スイカと抑制トマトを組み合わせる従来からの作型を続けている。これらの農家では，近年の農産物の価格低下傾向に対して，後述する小玉スイカの新品種の導入や，完熟トマトの出荷といった，商品の高品質化が進められている。一方，小玉スイカ生産を継続しつつも，キュウリやレタスなど，新たな作物を導入する農家もある。これには，農業収入の周年化やリスク分散，販路の多角化，連作障害対策などといった理由が挙げられる。また，水田と陸田は，全ての主業農家によって所有されているものの，施設園芸に労働力を集中させる傾向が強く，集落外の大規模借地農家に，全量または一部を作業委託している。&lt;BR&gt;_III_ 施設園芸農業を支える条件&lt;BR&gt; 対象集落における施設園芸農業を支える条件として，_丸1_小玉スイカそのものがもつ優位性，_丸2_生産・出荷に有利な立地条件，_丸3_新品種の導入・新たな連作障害対策の実現，_丸4_多様な需要への対応による販路の拡大，_丸5_コミュニティ活動を通じた社会的な結びつきと農業経営への貢献が挙げられる。&lt;BR&gt; まず，_丸1_は，大玉スイカに先行して出荷されるために高価格での販売が可能となる。_丸2_は，大消費地に近接することに加えて，冬季の日照時間が長く，無加温ハウスで小玉スイカ栽培が可能であり，暖房経費を抑えることができる。_丸3_は，農協や地元農業資材会社を通じた新品種の導入や，農業改良普及センターの指導による，環境に配慮した太陽熱消毒による連作障害対策の実現がある。_丸4_は，農協部会を通した，契約出荷やギフト商品の拡充，イベントへの出展などによる販路開拓と，地元農業資材会社を介したPB「味良来」の契約出荷がある。_丸5_は，活発な社会的・宗教的行事が，農家間の社会関係の維持・強化をもたらすだけでなく，日常的な農業関係の情報交換の場を提供している。さらにこのことが，集落内の農家が集団で農地を他集落の大規模借地農家に作業委託し，それが不耕作農地発生の抑止力となることにつながっている。これらの施設園芸を支える諸条件が複合的に組み合わさることで，施設園芸農業が維持されていると考えられる。
