Generation Z (born between late 1990s and early 2010s) is considered to be more motivated to contribute to society and more enthusiastic about solving social issues such as the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) than other generations before them. We conducted a survey on willingness to contribute to society by asking regional university students to select their WTP (willingness-to-pay) for the importance they attach to specific items of the SDGs. This study examines the factors that influence the level of willingness to contribute to society by comparing the results of the survey across faculties.

Generation Z (born after the mid-1990s) is considered to be more motivated to contribute to society and more enthusiastic about solving social issues such as the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) than other generations before them. Many of these surveys are in the form of questions asking whether or not or which specific items are important. In this study, based on the results of a survey conducted on student at a regional university in the form of questions asking WTP (Willingness To Pay) of specific items of SDGs, we will examine Generation Z's willingness to contribute to society.

Business-to-consumer (B2C) e-commerce has become one of the most important models for stores and enterprises. Many of them, however, face a difficult business environment because they lack an adequate understanding of the market. To develop the B2C market, this study seeks to identify young people's behavior and perceptions regarding online shops. This study finds that most youth use online shops for purchasing books, CDs, and clothes. They think that online shops offer the advantage of the ready availability of goods, but most want to confirm the goods' quality, which is not possible in online shopping. Youth may regard online shops as a complementary channel to physical shops. Through conjoint analysis, differences in the value of product availability could be attributed to gender. We also demonstrate that consumer behavior changes with online shops' manner of pricing display. These contributions will suggest effective marketing strategies for online shops.

In this study, we analyze the gap between the competencies that companies seek in university students and the requested competencies from companies that university students expect, through the distribution of a questionnaire to Japanese companies and university students. We find that a gap exists between companies’ and students’ evaluations of students’ competencies. Surprisingly, the companies’ and students’ stated priorities for competencies are seriously different. Our results show that companies highly value versatile personal or interior competencies as being essential for employees. Conversely, students highly value skills and knowledge as essential competencies for work.
